STATEMENT
My work paints a thin line between attraction and revulsion, evoking feelings that start in your gut. I engage with imagery that makes me uncomfortable, dissecting it into visual and conceptual components, and cropping in almost to the point of abstraction. Through this process, I amplify qualities of my subject matter like wetness, translucency, and organic form.

I challenge accepted dichotomies by imagining them not as opposite qualities, but as two mirrors held to each other. I look for the beautiful in the grotesque and the grotesque in the beautiful. Above all, I challenge the conception of human and nature as separate or opposite. I aim to show my viewer something they have seen in a way that they have never seen it before.
